View of The Island Princess, from a Tender heading to shore
in Kona, on the Big Island.
We took an "R & R" cruise in January 2005, to rest up
after the hectic end of 2004. Well it was supposed to be restful. Thanks to a fun group of energetic people who happened to
be sitting at the same dinner table, we ended up having a quite busy time - partying, competing in shipboard sports, bingo
and horse racing, dancing, casino, participation in the "Passenger All-Star Lip Sync Show", and more.
The trip was 4 days at sea, then 5 stops in Hawaiian ports, followed by 4 days at sea
for the return journey home.
Now we need a vacation to rest up from this cruise!

The Island Princess, only 2 years old, is quite a beautiful ship. There were 5 dining rooms, 8
bars, 2 major theatres, a 4 story atrium in the center, 4 pools, library, card room, wedding chapel, casino - well you
get the picture.
